Three ships berth at QICT

KARACHI: Three ships CV Calidris, MT SC Jean and MT Maistros carrying containers, palm oil and diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, three more ships CV Al-Manamah, CV MSC Toronto and MT Atlantic Glory with containers and chemicals also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same period. Higher side berth occupancy was recorded at the Port at sevenly three percent on Sunday where a total of eleven ships namely, CV Calidris, CV TG Poseidon, CV MSC Valencia, MV Adventurer-K, MV Apolio Bulker, MV Jewel of Dubai, MV Eliy, MT SC jean, MT Maistros, MT Al-Areesh and MT Stanley Park, were occupied PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement, rice, steel coil, general cargo, sorghum, palm oil, diesel oil LPG and LNG respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling registered an upward trend of the Port on Sunday where a cargo volume of 163,530 tonnes, comprising 109,437 tonnes imports and 54,093 tonnes exports, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,714 containers (TEUs) (2,159 TEUs imports & 2,051 TEUs exports) was handled during last 24 houRs three ships, CV TG Poseidon, CV MSC Valencia and MT Al-Areesh sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while another ship CV Calidris is expected to sail on someday.

Three ships CV MSC Toronta, CV Al-Manamah and MT Sea Delta carrying containers and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Monday, while two more container ships ‘Maersk Denver’ and ‘MSC Lana’ are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
