KARACHI: Three ships, Gibraltar, Black Pearl and Wilpride carrying Phosphoric Acid, LPG and LNG were allotted berths at Engro Vopak Terminal, Sui Southern Gas Terminal and Pakistan Gasport Consortium Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Friday.
Meanwhile six more ships carrying Containers, Coal and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was reported at the port at 53% on Thursday where a total of ten ships namely, CMA CGM Latour, MSC Algeciras, Santy, E-Tracer, Nvios Coral, Gibraltar, Black Pearl, Wilpride, Umm Addalkh and Al-Soor-II were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Rice, Coal, Soya Bean, Chemicals, LPG, LNG, Palm Kernel and Diesel oil.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 147,863 tonnes, comprising 126,738 tonnes import cargo and 21,125 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,055 Containers (TEUs), (209 TEUs import and 846 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Two ships, E-Tracer and Gibraltar are expected to sail on Friday in the afternoon. A total of six ships, Uni Florida, Songa Calabria, Tempanos, ECO, Gaschem Antarctic and Ejlan carrying Containers, Coal, LPG and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-4, EVTL and EETL respectively on Friday. While three more Container ships, Prosper, Libra and Nicoline Marsk are due to arrive at PQ on Saturday.
