Three ships take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships C.V New Ark, M.V Pelagica and M.T Chem Patriot carrying containers, Project Cargo and Phosphoric Acid were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile two more ship Al-Bahiya and Bunga Angsana with Containers and Palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at sixty percent on Sunday where a total of nine ships namely, New Ark, MSC Claudia, Safmarine Ngami, Pelagica, De Liang, Fu Ming, Berlin, Chem Patriot and Gas Chem Adriatic are currently occupying berth to load/offload Containers, Project Cargo, Coal, Soya Bean Seeds, Phosphoric Acid and LPG respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 66,417 tonnes, comprising 25,396 tonnes import cargo and 41,021 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,038 Containers (TUEs) (879 imports TUEs and 2,159 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Two Container vessels MSC Claudia and Safmarine Ngami sailed out to sea during night hours, while two more ships New Ark and Fu Ming are expected to sail on Monday.

Four ships, C.V Al-Rawdah, C.V Al-Bany, C.V MSC Messina and M.T Al-Bahiya carrying Containers and 140,351 cubic meters LNG are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Elengy Terminal respectively on Monday, while two more ships Maersk Denver and YM Miranda are due to arrive at PQ on Tuesday and Maersk Surabaya is due to arrive on Wednesday.
