Three ships take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships M.V Porthos, M.T Ginga Puma and M.T Pavino Spirt carrying general cargo, Phospharic acid and furnace oil were allotted berths at Multi-Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Sunday.  Meanwhile, four more ships with palm oil, disesl oil and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was maintained at the Port at 56% on Sunday where a total of ten ships namely, APL Japan, Safmarine Ngami, Wish Way, Nautical Alice, Porthos, White Purl, Star Trader, Ginga Puma, Stera Immportal and Pavino Spirit are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, dredger, coal, LPG, soya  bean seeds, phosphoric acid, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood 99,757 tonnes, comprising 82,277 tonnes import cargo and 17,480 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,807 containers TEUs (887 imports TEUs & 920 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Three ships C.V APL Japan, C.V Safmarine Ngami and M.T Stena Immportal sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more vessels

Whlte Purl and prothos are expected to sail on same day. A total six ships C.V MSC Chicago, C.VProsper, C.V Express Black Sea, M.T Gas Log Seattle, M.V Izumo and M.T Chem Tiger carrying containers, LNG, general cargo and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EETL, MW-1 and LCT respectively on due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
