Three ships take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships C.V Tianping, C.V Maersk Kensington and M.T Mid Fortune carrying containers and chemical were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile two more ships M.T Brizo and M.V Fu Ming with 63,322 tonnes Furnace oil and 43,999 tonnes coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim (PQ) during the same day.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at sixty seven percent on Tuesday where a total of ten ships namely, Tianping, Maersk Kensington, Al-Manamah, MSC Al-Ghero, Spectum-5, Ocean Quartz, Chance,

Gaslog Glasgow, Mid Fortune and Glorious were occupied PQA berth to load/offload Containers, Sand, Slag, Soya Bean Seeds, LNG, Chemicals and Diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling remained upward trend at the port on Tuesday where a cargo volume of 144,854 tonnes, comprising 87,387 tonnes import cargo and 57,467 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,254 containers (TEUs) 1,347 imports TUEs & 2,907 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Two ships, LNG carrier Gaslog Glasco and Oil Tanker Glorious sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while three more ships Ocean Quartz, Maersk Kensington and Mid Fortune are expected to sail on

same day.

Three ships M.V Baltic Winter, M.T YM Miranda and M.T Harmony-1 carrying Project Cargo, Chemicals and Furnace oil are expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Fotco

Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while a Container Vessel Maersk Semarang is due to arrive at PQ on same day and C.V Suez Canal and M.V Industrial Charger are due to arrive on Thursday.
