Three ships take berth take berth at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Three ships M.V IIfa, M.T Gas Log Santiago and M.T Gas Esco carrying Coal, LNG and LPG were allotted berths at

Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Monday.

Meanwhile five more ships, MSC Mars, MSC Bilbao, Lahore, Brizo and Dragon Ocean with Containers, Furnace oil and Coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at forty seven percent on Sunday where a total of eight ships namely Safmarine Nayassa, Achilleas-S, IIfa, Three Saskias, Epic Sardinia, Gas Log Santiago, Gas Esco and Pavino Spirit were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya Bean Seeds, LNG, LPG and Furnace oil respectively.

Cargo volume during last 24 hours stood at 126,029 tonnes, comprising 125,953 tonnes import cargo and 76 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 704 container (TEUs), (700 TEUs imports and 04 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.

Coal carrier Achilleas-S sailed out to sea on Monday morning while two more ships, oil tanker Pavino Spirit and Bulk Cargo carrier. Three Saskias are expected to sail on same day in the after afternoon.

Three ships C.V MSC Bilbao, C.V MSC Mars and M.T Maislros carrying Containers and Diesel oil are expected to take berth at QICT and FOTCO respectively on Monday, while three more ships New Ark. Maersk Denver and MSC Algeciras with Containers are due arrive at PQ on Tuesday.
