TAIPEI: Taiwan stocks rose on Tuesday in a technical rebound after a sharp slump in the previous session on a gloomy outlook for the domestic economy.
The main TAIEX index rose 0.3 per cent to 8,548.45 as of 0157 GMT, after sliding 1.6 per cent on Monday, its worst performance in a week.
The main index has shed nearly 15 per cent in the past two months.
The electronics subindex rose 0.1 per cent, while the financials subindex gained 0.8 per cent.
