TOKYO: Tokyo stocks jumped 0.49 per cent after official data showed Japan’s economy contracted at a slower rate than expected last quarter.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Monday rose 100.81 points to 20,620.26 while the Topix index of all first-section shares added 0.51 per cent, or 8.41 points, to 1,672.87 at end of day.
