TOKYO: Tokyo’s benchmark shares index has closed 0.41 per cent higher after a see-saw session, as investors weigh positive earning results with weaker-than-expected Chinese economic data.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which opened in negative territory, closed Monday 84.13 points higher at 20,808.69.
The Topix index of all first-section shares gained 0.72 per cent, or 12.10 points, to 1,691.29.
