TOKYO: Tokyo stocks have closed 1.89 per cent lower amid a lack of strong trading cues on worries over China’s economy and following a negative lead on Wall Street.
The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Wednesday tumbled 343.74 points to 17,891.00 by the close, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares dropped 2.15 per cent, or 32.30 points, to 1,470.83.
