TOKYO: Tokyo stocks fell Tuesday morning as concerns over the global growth outlook spurred investors to lock in gains from a four-day winning streak that saw the Nikkei index climb more than 950 points through the previous day.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 116.87 points, or 0.59 percent, from Monday to end the morning at 19,525.87. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 11.66 points, or 0.73 percent, to 1,579.31.
