TOKYO: Tokyo stocks fell Friday as investors moved to lock in earlier gains on perceptions of an overheated market and amid a dearth of other clear trading cues.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average ended down 60.47 points, or 0.30 percent, from Thursday at 19,883.94. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange finished 7.87 points, or 0.49 percent, lower at 1,594.45.
