TOKYO: Tokyo stocks soared 1.46 percent by break on Thursday, shrugging off a fall on Wall Street, as main exporters got a boost from the dollar’s bounce back versus the yen.
The Nikkei 225 index rose 245.86 points to 17,041.82, while the Topix index of all first-section shares was up 1.12 percent, or 15.21 points, at 1,373.19.
