TOKYO: Tokyo stocks slid slightly in early trading Friday amid a wait-and-see mood ahead of the Bank of Japan’s monetary policy decision due later in the day.
In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average fell 31.31 points, or 0.17 percent, from Thursday to 18,904.40. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 0.93 point, or 0.06 percent, at 1,546.18.
