The top six major LCD TV vendors in China saw accumulative shipments to markets outside China grow 16% on year in the first quarter of 2015, with approximately 30% of the amount going to North America.
Total shipments reached 6.2 million, with shipments to North America seeing the largest increase compared to other areas including South America and Africa.
Most notably was Haier’s performance, with the company seeing a more than 80% on-year increase in shipments for outside markets during the first quarter as it increased sales channels and increased outsourcing while decreasing in-house production.
Hisense meanwhile saw an 18% on-year increase in shipments due to extending its sales route into Wal-Mart and Best Buy in addition to increasing promotions in Australia and Europe.
Skyworth, Changhong and Konka meanwhile all saw between 10-20% on-year increases while market leading TCL saw flat growth.
In terms of panels, China makers shipped 43 million in 2014, 80% of which were for 32-inch units to meet both domestic and international demand, and that overall number is expected to increase in 2015.
