Torkham Customs collects Rs498.86m under head of all duty, taxes in eleven months

TORKHAM: Customs Station Torkham collected Rs498.86 million under head of all duty taxes during month of May financial year (FY) 2016-17.

According to details told by Deputy Collector Torkham Fazli Shakoor that during month of May of Fiscal Year 2016-17 the Torkham Station earned Rs.61.96 million under head of customs duty (CD), Rs4.27 million under head of different taxes and surcharges, Rs.4.0 million in head additional development surcharge (EDS), Rs.173.82 million under head of Sales Tax (ST), Rs.25.31 million under head of Sales Tax on Imports, Rs.97.34 million under head of Additional Income Tax (AIT) and Rs.132.16 million under head of AIT on Exports.

He said that he said that during month of April FY16-17 the collection of all duty taxes was on hike against revenue collection during month of March FY16-17 in shape of all duty taxes adding that the Torkham collected Rs.44.66 under head of Customs Duty, Rs.3.11 million was collected under head of various taxes and surcharges during April FY16-17.

Fazli Shakoor further told that during April FY16-17 the Torkham Station collected Rs.5.31 million in head of RD whereas it collected Rs.3.91 million in head of EDS PAK adding that the Torkham earned Rs.142.10 million in head of ST whereas collected Rs.18.37 million in head of ST on imports.

The sources stated that during April 16-17 the Torkham earned Rs.78.39 million under head of AIT whereas it collected Rs.93.63 million under head of AIT on Exports.

Fazli Shakoor said that during the month of March FY2016-17 he said that the Torkham collected Rs131.55 million under head of all duty and taxes, he was adding that during March FY16-17 the Torkham was stopped functioning due to new border management measures and new visa policies.

He said that during March Torkham collected Rs21.61 million CD whereas it received Rs0.23 millions under head of miscellaneous duty and surcharges adding that the Torkham earned Rs.0.89 million RD on imports. During said period, Torkham earned Rs.2.74million EDS as for as the Torkman collected Rs.44.0 million under head of ST, he was adding that during the month of March FY16-17, Torkham collected Rs5.81million ST on imports while it collected Rs26.06million AIT and it did Rs36.02million AIT on Exports.
