Torkham Customs generates Rs 3.97b as customs duty, sales tax

ISLAMABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate, Peshawar collected Rs 2,067 million under the head of customs duty and Rs 1,904 million as sales tax till June 25, of current fiscal year 2015-16 from Torkham Customs Station.

The Torkham Customs collected revenue Rs 157.42 million as customs duty and Rs 119.73 million as sales tax during July, 2015, while the total collection was remained Rs 203.42 million.

In August, 2015, it collected Rs 165.02 million as customs duty and Rs 121.41 million in wake of sales tax, while total collection was standing at Rs 286.43 million.

In September, 2015, it generated Rs 312.56 million under the head of customs duty and Rs 192.78 million as sales tax. The total value in the said month was Rs 505.34 million.

The Torkham Custom collected Rs 370.29 million as customs duty and Rs 199.35 million as sales tax in October, 2015. The total value of taxes collected in the said month stood at Rs 569.64 million.

In November 2015, it collected Rs 196.44 million as customs duty and Rs 162.02 in wake of sales tax, while it collected total revenue to the tune of Rs 358.46 million in the month.

In December, 2015, the collection of custom duty was stood at Rs 133.0 million and sales tax at Rs 144.12 million. The total collection of both taxes was remained Rs 277.22 million.

In January, 2016, the Torkham station generated Rs 112.49 million in wake of customs duty and Rs 179.26 million under the head of sales tax.

The collection of customs duty in February, 2016 was recorded at Rs 128.24 m and in wake of sales tax at Rs 161.12 million. The total collection remained Rs 289.36 million.

In March, 2016, it collected Rs 143.49 million as customs duty and Rs 209.87 million as sales tax, while the total collection was recorded at Rs 353.36 million.

In April, 2016, it generated Rs 120.19 million as customs duty and Rs 188.84 million in wake of sales tax, the total collection of both taxes was remained Rs 309.03 million.

The collection of customs duty was remained Rs 103.2 million and sales tax Rs 128.41 million during May, 2016, while the total collection was Rs 231.61 million.

Till June 25, 2016, the Torkham Custom collected Rs 125.28 million as customs duty and Rs 97.09 million under the head of sales tax.
