Torkham customs seizes 1641 grams gold from Afghan lady on Friday

PESHAWAR: The Customs staff deputed at Customs Station Torkham on Friday have seized 1641 gram gold from Afghan lady Gulla on Friday at crossing point from Afghanistan to Pakistan.

Sources told Customs Today that the customs team intercepted a lady at and diverted her at scanner room at Torkham Customs check post Gold was recovered from possession of the lady who was arrested by Customs staff and shifted to Customs Station Peshawar for further interrogations.

Meanwhile the customs authorities have tightened vigilance of border to be used for smuggling purposes. The sources informed that Assistant Collector at Torkham Customs have lauded the efforts of customs staff and have directed to curb the menace of smuggling.

The accused Afghan lady Gulla will be interrogated for transfer of gold whether to trace any group working to smuggle gold for earning marginal profits: sources added.

Customs House Peshawar under the supervision of Collector Customs Mohammad Saeed Jadoon working hard to curb smuggling and trade of contraband goods for which strict routine checking has been implemented.
