NEW YORK: Toyota introduced a new version of its RAV4 hybrid SUV at the New York Auto Show boasting premium styling, innovative technology, enhanced driving dynamics, and a quieter ride.
The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid also heralds the addition of Toyota Safety Sense package which is to become standard across all Toyota models in the U.S. by the end of 2017.
The hybrid system powering the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is very sophisticated, at least by the standards of this segment. It consists of a 2.5-litre petrol engine and an electric motor, with an additional motor powering the rear axle to deliver electronic all-wheel drive. Toyota has not announced the performance and economy figures yet, but they ought to be good.
The new hybrid RAV4 also benefits from improved looks and enhanced equipment level, evident in the use of full LED headlights for the first time, new rocker panel, a full colour TFT screen and soft-touch materials, 360-degree Panoramic View Monitor.
