LAHORE: Trade deficit is normal thing when someone talks about trade with India through Wahga Border but it turned in favour of Pakistan during the first 15 days of May, 2015.
According to statistics available to Customs Today, trade between Pakistan and India through Wahaga Land Freight Unit stands in favour of Pakistan which is quite extraordinary thing in business. In the first 15 days of May 2015, Pakistan has exported items worth Rs 400 million to India while on other hand imports from India stands at Rs 388 million during the same period.
Trade deficit with India which was stands at Rs 1.72 billion in first fifteen days of February 2015, Rs 1037 million in first fifteen days of March but in first 15 days of May trade has came in favor of Pakistan with the exports of Rs 400 million as compared to the imports of Rs 388 million.
In these 15 days trade Indian trade falls in deficit of Rs 12 million which is a good sign for Pakistan. But as experts says this favor in trade is not long lasting and will be again in Indian favor because Indian market has more options in export while on other hand our exporters have limited items and limited chances to improve their trade.
