LAHORE: Traders leader Raja Adeel Ashfaq has urged the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to improve vigilance system on borders to curb the menace of smuggling instead of conducting raids on business premises.
Ashfaq said that FBR should take steps for stopping smuggling on borders instead of conducting raids on businessmen, who are backbone of the economy.
The private sector is ready to supplement the government efforts aimed at revival of the economic activities in the country, he said and asserted that the raids on business premises would hamper the economic activities.
Raja Adeel said that if there was a need to take action against any particular industrial unit, the FBR officials should be directed to take concerned association or Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry on board.
