HYDERABAD: The office bearers of Hyderabad Chamber of Small Traders and Small Industry (HCSTSI) have castigated the poor performance of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and local government institutions on their failure of making the historic city of Hyderabad clean and safe.
In a statement on Tuesday, the President HCSTSI Muhammad Akram Ansari, Senior Vice President Sikandar Ali Rajput and Vice President Doulat Ram Lohana said that accumulation of sewerage due to chocked drain lines and heaps of garbage have brought the lives of the citizens of Hyderabad miserable.
They said that once the city of Hyderabad was ranked among clean cities but at present the accumulation of sewerage water and heaps of garbage can be seen in almost all localities of Hyderabad City, Latifabad and Qasimabad.
They said that despite protest demonstrations from citizens, traders association and political parties, the high ups of the provincial government are not taking notice of the destruction of Hyderabad city.
They appealed to Sindh Chief Minister, Sindh Minister for Local Government, Mayor Hyderabad and Managing Director WASA to pay their personal attention towards the situation and issue directives of the officers concerned to improve the health and sanitation condition of the city so that the citizens particularly the business community could take sigh of relief.
