Customs Today learnt that various trader organisations held the protest and closed markets for three hours to show their reservations on the newly imposed taxes by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA).

Traders said that burden of taxes could be a setback for them. They urged the authorities concerned to withdraw SRO-608 and latest amendment in the Punjab Finance Act regarding the services sales tax.

All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajran said, “We will hold countrywide strikes if the government did not accept our demands. We will surround all regional tax offices and federal offices.”
