RAWALPINDI: The traders of twin cities, protesting against the delay of Rs44.21 billion Metro Bus Service project, have demanded exemption of taxes including income, property, professional and general sales tax.
The traders, presenting their charter of demands at a convention held at Liaquat Bag, also threatened to start a hunger strike camp at Committee Chowk from March 28 if the government failed in accepting their demands.
Traders Action Committee (TAC) Head Faheem Siddiqui, PTI MPA Arif Abbasi, Ghulam Ali Khan of Awami Tehrik, JUP’s Allama Haider Alvi and large number of traders’ unions and representatives attended the convention. Addressing the convention, the speakers criticised the Punjab and federal government for not completing the MBS Project within stipulated time period. They said that the business of traders have ruined because of delay in the construction of MBS project.
