Naeem Mir said the government, if its hands were clean, should ensure transparent and credible investigation into the Panama scandal. He said as businesses are already facing recession because of declining oil prices, a likely sit-in by PTI in Raiwind would further damage the business activities.

Mir demanded that taxpayers and traders should also be taken as stakeholders in the investigation process. He reiterated that traders are committed to Constitution and democracy; therefore, they would not support any undemocratic action against the government.

Mir said that politics of agitation and sit-ins will push the national economy towards the wall; therefore all the political parties should show maturity and try to resolve issues through talks as stability was must for economic development. He said that national economy lost around Rs 400 billion due to different protests and long marches in previous years.

He said Pakistan was in dire need of stability in policy making and strong institutions and to achieve the very objective, both the politicians and the business leaders would have to join hands for finding out a common economic agenda.
