LAHORE: The traders in Punjab have staged a protest rally against imposition of withholding tax on banking transactions. They also staged a sit-in in front of Crown Bus Adda after the rally.

Talking to Customs Today, National Traders Ittehad President Shaikh Mushtaq lauded the participation of traders in the sit-in and protest rallies. He said that the government’s step to impose withholding tax on banking transactions is totally unjustified. He warned that if the government failed to withdraw the tax, the traders will stop their transactions through banking channels from September 4, 2015.
