Traders demand govt withdraw WHT on bank transactions

LAHORE: Traders have demanded the government withdraw 0.3 percent withholding tax on banking transitions otherwise they will block everything and will come on roads.

Ashraf Bhatti trader group has called a country-wise convention on August 10 in which the traders will finalize their strategy for staging protest while Lahore traders alliance announced to participate in the convention.

President of Lahore Traders Alliance Safder But said, that government is not taking traders protest seriously. He reiterated his stance that traders will not accept withholding tax on banking transactions at any cost.

He urged traders and traders community to participate in August 10, 2015 convention because some important decisions will be taken in the convention. He said if Khalid Pervaiz group extends its cooperates with all traders then 0.3 percent WHT tax issue will be solved according to the wishes of traders community.
