LAHORE: All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran (APAT) has vowed that it would bring one million new taxpayers under tax net in three years after approval of Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) announced by the government on January 1.
There are over 3.5 million traders across the country who are keen to take advantage of the scheme, Naeem Mir, Secretary General APAT said while addressing a press conference at a local hotel.
He said currently only about 100,000 traders were paying their taxes and this package would help hundreds of thousands more traders to enter the tax net.
The Secretary General APAT said the Voluntary Scheme was offered for small traders having income of up to 50 million instead of billionaires.
