Training period for promotion of customs officers reduced

LAHORE: The government has reduced the time span of training programmes mandatory for the promotions of the customs and Inland Revenue officers, sources said.  The sources said that the training span has been reduced to one month only. The sources said that the period for the training of the officers of National Training Course and Senior Management Course officers has been reduced significantly.

It was reported that SMC time span has been reduced to 18 weeks from 22 weeks while the period of training for the NTC has been reduced to 16 weeks from 20 weeks. The sources said that the implementation of the new schedule would come into effects from September 11 (today).

Meanwhile the Federal board of Revenue has warned all the officers of customs service who were transferred and posted to assume and resume their charges at the earliest without fail.

It was said that it has been observed that the customs officers who have been transferred and posted have ignored joining and leaving their newly allocated posts. They were urged to assume and relinquish their charges at the earliest or face the music.
