LAHORE: The Pakistani transporters have suspended export of gypsum to India for an indefinite period.
According to sources, the export of gypsum to India was suspended because of illegal custody of Pakistani driver by Indian police who has been granted bail from an Indian court last week. Dozens of trailers and other heavy vehicles are standing on both sides of the road from Batapur to Wagha Border.
The transporters said that trade will not continue until the release of the Pakistani driver and no vehicle will deliver gypsum to India. Pakistan is exporting gypsum to India every month worth millions of rupees and it is the largest export to India by Pakistan after cement.
