Treasure Coast International Airport celebrates opening of U.S. Customs

FORT PIERCE:St. Lucie County Commissioners and U.S. Customs and Border Protection will celebrate the reopening of the renovated CBP Facility and the opening of the CBP Trusted Traveler/Global Entry Enrollment Center.

A ribbon-cutting and open house are planned for 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 12, at the Treasure Coast International Airport and Business Park.

The Global Entry program allows travelers to clear CBP faster, with no processing lines, no paperwork and reduced wait times.

As a Global Entry member, travelers arrive at the CBP Facility inside select international airports and ports, check-in at a Global Entry Kiosk, and they are on their way.

The well-known TSA PreCheck is included in the enrollment.

Located at 2990 Curtis King Blvd., the airport’s CBP facility recently underwent a $2.1 million renovation with substantial upgrades to enhance customer service and security.

It has been named several times as the top aviation-related U.S. Customs and Border Protection Facility by FltPlan.com, based off a pilots’ surveys.

FltPlan.com is the largest provider of flight planning services for corporate and business aircraft in the United States with more than 95,000 active registered users.

Generating more than $155 million in annual economic activity, the Treasure Coast International Airport and Business Park, 3000 Curtis King Blvd., Fort Pierce, is conveniently situated between Central Florida and South Florida.

St. Lucie County is within a two-hour drive of both Orlando and Miami, with access to more than 14 million people.
