Turkey crude oil imports decrease by 5.8% in 2014

ANKARA: Turkey’s crude oil imports in 2014 decreased by 5.8 percent while diesel oil imports increased by 26.4 percent compared the previous year, according to Turkey’s energy watchdog.

“In 2014, the import of crude oil declined by 5.8 percent to 17.4 million tons while the import of diesel fuel increased by 26.39 to 11.7 million tons,” Turkish Energy Regulatory Market, EMRA, announced Friday in the Oil Market Sector Report of December 2014.

Additionally, gasoline imports in 2014 declined by 16.7 percent to 2.8 million tons.

In December 2014, crude oil imports declined by 5.19 percent to 1.4 million tons compared to November 2014. Meanwhile, diesel fuel imports increased by 31.69 percent, to 1.1 million tons.
