Turkey crude oil imports up by 28.5% in February

ANKARA: The import of crude oil increased in February by 28.5 percent when compared to the same month last year reaching 1.7 million tons according to Crude Oil Market Sector Report issued for February by the Energy Market Regulatory Board.

Accordingly, the import of diesel oil (excluding biodiesel oil) also increased by 14.3 percent, reaching 788,105 tons and jet fuel oil by 170.6 percent to 29,941 tons.

The total amount of production at refineries in January and February of 2015 increased by 20.6 percent to 3.5 million tons and diesel oil production by 10.6 percent increasing to one million tons. The unleaded oil production reached 741,257 tons increasing by 35 percent compared to last year while jet fuel oil production reached 627,110 tons increasing by 41 percent compared to last year’s figures.

The total fuel oil sales of licensed distributor increased by 11.9 percent in January and February 2015 compared to last year and reached 3.1 million tons, while during the same period sales of diesel oil (excluding biodiesel sales) increased by 10 percent reaching 2.5 million tons. Sales of diesel oil including biodiesel increased by 78 percent and reached 249,456 tons. Total diesel oil sales increased by 14 percent in January and February 2015 compared to the previous year reaching 2.7 million tons while unleaded fuel sales increased by 7.5 percent reaching 284 thousand tons.
