Turkey’s TiKA, Tevta join hands for promoting technical edu

LAHORE: The Technical Education & Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) has joined hands with Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TiKA) for the promotion of technical education and vocational training system.

Tevta Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said this while addressing the Authority’s officers after successful visit of Turkey.

The TiKA will provide technical assistance to Tevta for the promotion of technical education across the province.  “During meeting with Head of Department East and South Asia, Pacific and Latin America, TiKA, Dr Rahman Nurdun at Anqara, it was also decided that pass-outs of garments and hospitality related courses will be given 2 weeks training in Turkey,” he said. This international level training will be beneficial for them to get better job opportunities in national and international market.

The Tevta chairperson further said that Tika will also provide training to the trainers to start demand driven courses in cooking and tourism according to the international level.
