ANKARA: Turkish Statistical Institute (Turkstat) released its Industrial Turnover Index with February data. According to the new data, the seasonally- and calendar-adjusted total industrial turnover index rose by 3.7 percent compared to the previous month.
When sub-sectors of the industry were examined, the mining and quarrying index increased by 12.5 percent and the manufacturing index increased by 3.5 percent in February compared to the previous month.
On the other hand, the calendar-adjusted total industrial turnover index decreased by 0.6 percent compared with the same month last year. Turkstat’s data also indicated the mining and quarrying index fell by 13.7 percent and the manufacturing index decreased by 0.2 percent in February compared to the same month last year. According to the main industrial groupings (MIGs) classification, the largest increase, by 11.5 percent, was in energy in February, compared with the previous month.
