Twin Ports show business group to honor SS Eastland with musical

Duluth: A new musical coming to the Twin Ports stage honors one of the largest man-made loss of life on American soil.

The Renegade Theater Company gave a preview of the show “Eastland” Friday on-board the Vista Fleet in Duluth.

The show honors the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the S.S. Eastland in the Chicago River near the mouth of Lake Michigan. More than 840 lives were lost.

This is the second professional production in history following its world-premiere at the Tony Award-winning Lookingglass Theater Company in Chicago. The musical premieres August 6th at the Teatro Zuccone.
