NEW YORK: Judy Caine, with Prosperity N.E.O. of Solon and the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce Bright Star for 2015, was recognized Oct. 29 at the semi-annual Chamber Leadership meeting and eighth-annual Chamber Bright Star Awards presentation of the Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce.
Caine accepted her plaque and trophy from Tony Gallo, NOACC Chairman and President of the Lorain County Chamber, at the presentation.
“Our volunteers are the common bond in each chamber,” Gallo said. “Giving recognition to our Bright Star in a public way lets our membership and community know we appreciate the time, talent and treasure that they provided.”
Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Abby Fechter says Caine’s passion for the Chamber’s women’s committee, T.W.I.N (Twinsburg Women In Networking), is one of a kind.
“She has dedicated an enormous amount of volunteer hours through this committee and is the brainchild of one of our most successful events, our Annual Women’s Expo,” Fechter said. “Without her, the committee would not be as successful and her passion is what makes her our 2015 Bright Star.”
The award presentation, at Windows on the River at the Nautical Entertainment Complex in Cleveland, saw 40 Chambers across northern Ohio nominate a person from their Chamber as their “Bright Star.”
The award recognizes a Chamber member who has “made a significant impact on the chamber through membership, retention, sponsorship, economic development, operations and/or education.”
Each Bright Star must be an active Chamber member for no less than two years and is likely to be an unsung hero or a dedicated behind-the-scenes volunteer.
