NEW YORK: Twitter launches Vine Kids, the new app that offers up tons of adorable animated videos that are appropriate for young audiences. User’s child can simply swipe left or right to watch a new Vine, and tap the screen to hear fun sounds.
Twitter’s Vine app is home to some seriously entertaining videos — just don’t expect them all to be kid-friendly. Fortunately, now there’s an easy way to keep those inappropriate videos away from kids’ eyeballs — without banning them from using the service.
“We’ve seen for ourselves — and heard from parents, siblings and others — that kids love Vine,” Carolyn Penner, head of communications and marketing for the app, wrote in a blog post. “So, we built Vine Kids, a simple new app that gives young children a fun way to watch Vines.”
Penner said the idea for the app came about during an office conversation in early January when a colleague said his 2-year-old daughter loved Vine, but he wished there was a separate app for age-appropriate videos.
