Twitter teams up with Disney, Lusafilm to create custom Twitter emoji, introduces Star Wars emoji

OTTAWA:  The Internet is not finished freaking out over the new teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Twitter is now joining in on the fun by introducing exclusive Star Wars emoji.

The social network teamed up with Disney and Lucasfilm to create custom Twitter emojis, which users can create using hashtags representing keywords associated with specific characters and legacy themes.

“[Users] will see a small emoji-like icon automatically appended to the end of the text of the tag, embedded within the tweet,” read an announcement from Twitter.

Of course, the Internet immediately freaked out over the emoji – which include characters like C3PO and storm troopers.
