Two-day int’l TVET conference begins in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Two-day International TVET Conference Pakistan-2016 arranged by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) began here on Monday.

Experts from 15 countries including China, Korea, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia and Sri Lanka are participating in the conference. The aim of the conference is to discuss ways to improve standards of technical training so that youth could get more job opportunities in Pakistan and abroad.

During the inaugural session of the conference, Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training Muhammad Balighur Rehman, Ambassador of Germany and Mayor Islamabad Metropolitan Corporation Sheikh Ansar Aziz addressed the participants. The welcome address was given by Executive Director National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTCC) Zulfiqar Cheema.

On the second day of the conference, experts belonging to Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Deutsche Gesellschaftf r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), a German international sustainable development organization and corporate sector will deliver speeches.

The conference will wrap up with distribution of certificates among the participants. Mayor Islamabad will arrange a dinner for the guests, who will also have an opportunity to visit Lok Virsa.
