Two-day physical remand of mobile smuggler approved

LAHORE: The Special Federal Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has approved a two-day physical remand of the accused who was arrested by the customs authorities from Faisalabad on Tuesday.

According to sources of Customs Today, Tayab Manzoor was booked by the customs preventive from Faisalabad International Airport when he reached airport from Bahrain. Tayab was travelling by Gulf Airways.

During a search of the luggage, customs preventive found mobile phones that he was trying to smuggle into Faisalabad from Bahrain.

The customs team arrested him and found 60 cells hidden in his bag. The customs has registered a case against accused Tayqb and launched an investigation.
The customs investigation and prosecution team presented him before the judge of the customs court and asked for his physical remand which the court approved. The value of the cells smuggled is more than Rs 05million.

The customs authorities have registered a case against him under the Pakistan Customs Act-1969.
