LAHORE: Federal Board of Revenue has dismissed two Inspectors of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) each of Appraisement and Preventive Lahore over inefficiency and misconduct.
As per details, Collectorate of Customs (Adjudication) Additional Collector Saira Agha has been appointed as Inquiry Officer to conduct inquiry on account of various acts of omission and commission committed by the accused officers including Muhammad Sharif Watto (Appraisement) and Shahid ul Hassan (Preventive) costing inefficiency and misconduct under the Government Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973.
The Inquiry Officer submitted inquiry, according to which the charges levied against he accused officers have been proved. The show cause notices have also been issued to the accused officers and in response, they submitted their defence replies.
The Board, after considering the inquiry report, reply of the accused to the Show Cause Notice, found the officers guilty of “Inefficiency” & “Misconduct”.
The Member (Admin) being the Authority in these cases, after having considered all aspectsnd the recommendations of Authorised Officer, imposed the major penalty of “dismissal from service” upon Muhamad Sharif Watto and Shahid ul Hassan under rule 4(1)b(iv) of the Govt Servants (Efficiency & Discipline) Rules, 1973 with mediate effect. The officers have the right of appeal as admissible in the Civil Servants (Appeal) Rules, 1977.
