NEW YORK: U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized more than 5,000 pounds of marijuana during a drug stop at the Mexico border.
Officers say the drugs are worth $2,539,700.
Officers discovered the drugs after a man from Mexico tried entering through the Port of Nogales.
The drugs were in six boxes that were being fronted as aircraft parts. Officers arrested Jaime Alfonso Valdez-Yocupicio.
Officers seized the entire shipment and referred Valdez to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
