Police say the meth was being shipped from Mexico through Texas and onto North Carolina.

Around 6:00 p.m. officers received information that a drug deal would be going down in a parking lot on Moye Boulevard near Memorial. When officers approached, the driver ran from the vehicle but was caught after a foot chase.

The crystal meth found in the vehicle has a street value of approximately $360,000.

The car’s driver, Sandro Gutierrez of San Jose, California was charged with multiple counts of meth trafficking, as well as resist, obstruct and delay.

Two other people have also been charged in the drug shipment case. They are Ezequiel Gonzalez-Garza of Houston, Texas, and Maricruz De Cruz of Grand Prairie, Texas.

All three are being held in the Pitt County jail on million dollar bonds.
