UAE Chamber plans to expand investment cooperation with Kazakhstan

ABU DHABI: His Excellency Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, Chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, emphasized on the increasing interest of companies operating in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi to increase their investments and presence in the Kazakhstani markets which come within their efforts to contribute to executing development and investment projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

During his meeting with His Excellency Kairat Lama Sharif, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the UAE, H.E. Al-Rumaithi said that economic and investment relations between the two friendly countries witnessed considerable development over the past few years coupled with huge increase in the number of Emirati companies which set up their own investment projects in different sectors in Kazakhstan. He also emphasized on the importance of boosting the efforts of the private sector to open up new horizons before businessmen and investors in Abu Dhabi and Kazakhstan.

Al-Rumaithi pointed out that the Abu Dhabi Chamber constantly works on encouraging investors in the UAE to enter the Kazakhstani markets and hold their projects there within its efforts to provide new investment opportunities for the national companies and to contribute to the economic and constructional boost in Kazakhstan.

The Chairman also stressed on the participation of the Abu Dhabi Chamber in Astana Economic Forum which is due to be held in the second half of May and which will witness the participation of senior officials, ministers and dignitaries from more than 90 countries across the globe. He noted that the forum will offer great and unique opportunity for the companies of the private sector and investors in the UAE to take a closer look on the latest investment opportunities in all industrial, economic and services sectors in Kazakhstan.

For his part, H.E. Sharif praised the high level of economic and investment cooperation relations between the two friendly countries.

The Ambassador handed an invitation over to H.E. Al-Rumeithi to participate in Astana Economic Forum, noting that the forum is one of the most important international events which attract large numbers of senior officials, experts and businessmen from across the globe.

His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al-Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, and His Excellency Ibrahim Aushev, Diplomatic Attaché of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Abu Dhabi, attended the meeting.
