ISLAMABAD: The United Kingdom is further increasing efforts to help improve Pakistan’s economic development through trainings, financial inclusion and investment in small business.
This was stated by British Minister of State for International Development Desmond Swayne, in a statement at the conclusion of his three-day visit to Pakistan. He lauded the government’s step to focus on the big reforms in energy, privatization, and reducing the public debt. These tax reforms are essential for the future prosperity of the country, he added. Swayne said Pakistan has taken a number of important steps for stability and growth of its economy.
During his visit, the British Minister met Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and leaders of the business community. Their discussions focused on the prospects for faster economic growth, increasing the tax base and tackling poverty.
