LONDON: UK property sales fell in January, dropping by 6% compared with a year ago, but estate agents’ views vary on the significance of the decrease.
Transactions totalled 97,320 in January, according to the latest seasonally-adjusted figures from HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC).
That is the lowest level since October 2013, and the fourth consecutive monthly drop in sales. Numerous commentators are expecting house prices to rise by 4% in 2015.
