Ukraine buys nuclear fuel worth $367 m in 9 months of 2016

KIEV: Ukraine in January-September 2016 bought nuclear fuel worth a total of $367.313 million. According to the State Statistics Service, over the period Russian fuel worth $266.722 million and that produced in Sweden for $100.591 million was bought for Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPP).

Thus, the share of nuclear fuel purchases from TVEL (the Russian Federation) in monetary terms for the first nine months was 72.6% and from Westinghouse (Sweden) stood at 27.4%. As reported, Ukraine in 2015 purchased nuclear fuel for a total of $643.570 million, while the share of fuel made in Russia was $610.883 million and that produced in Sweden some $32.688 million.
