KIEV: In December Ukraine imported 12.5 KMT of palm oil which was 33% less than in November 2015 and almost 65% less than in December 2014.
During the first three month of the current season (September-November) palm oil imports were ahead of the last season volume. Nevertheless, reduction of purchases in December resulted in decrease of total imports in the current season to the lowest level over the last 10 years (61 KMT).
Nearly 59% of palm oil was purchased from Malaysia, and 34% – from Indonesia. Ukrainian palm oil imports decrease was also provoked by reduction of price spread between sunflower oil and palm oil.
