KIEV: Ukraine has long been a major supplier of sunflower oil to the largest market of India with a market share of over 95%. Despite the decline in harvest and processing of sunflower, as well as the increase of the price spread between sunflower and soybean/palm oils, 2014/15 season was no exception.
So, at the end of last season, Ukraine has exported 1519 KMT of sunflower oil to India, which is only slightly less than the record figure of the season 2013/14. India’s share in the structure of Ukrainian exports of sunflower oil was 39% compared with 37.5% in 2013/14 MY.
